Vancouver Campus | 5:30pm–5:30pm
A Parliament of Birds by Guillermo Verdecchia, adapted from Farid ud-Din Attar's poem. Preview: November 23, Opening: November 24 - to December 3 (Tues-Sat in week 2).
UBC's department of Theatre and Film is back to live programming with this electric play featuring the work of students in our BFA Acting ensemble, Design and Production programs under the direction of accomplished MFA Directing alumnus Camyar Chaichian. Adapted from the 12th-century Sufi poem and reimagined for our current times, The Parliament of the Birds tells the story of a group of birds who have been gathered by the mysterious hoopoe. Longing for understanding in a troubled world, the birds embark on an epic jorney in search of elightenment and truth. Universal characters are brought to life in this ensemble piece filled with hope, reminding us that we are all inextricably connected. Buy your tickets by clicking here!
