UPDATE
The planning committee has decided to postpone the Building Connections Symposium following the recommendations of public health directives. We plan to reschedule for when it is safe to host the in-person event for all members of our community.
Please email us at wellbeing.learning@ubc.ca should you have any questions regarding this event.
UBC Health Promotion & Education and SFU Health Promotion are proud to collaborate on the first ever Building Connections: UBC & SFU Well-being in Learning Environments Symposium. The symposium is a free full-day event that connects SFU and UBC faculty, educators and staff around the topic of how well-being relates to teaching practices and learning environments.
Through interactive talks and breakout sessions, attendees will learn about best practices and theories related to creating conditions for well-being in learning environments, share their own practices and experiences, and connect with other like-minded faculty and staff. Attendees will also have the opportunity to consider students’ point of view of well-being, institutional support, and campus experiences, while providing their input on how both institutions can better support well-being in learning environments.
